Welcome to Cub Scout Pack 17!

 Spearfish Cub Scout Pack 17 is chartered as part of the Bear Butte District of the Black Hills Area Council, Boy Scouts of America.

Pack 17 hosts a year-round family program for boys in first grade through fifth grade (or who are 7-10 years old). Interested boys are assigned to a Den of 6-12 boys. Tiger Cubs (first-graders), Wolf Cubs (second-graders), Bear Cubs (third-graders), and Webelos (fourth and fifth-graders) meet during the month with their Den Leader and parent assistants. Once a month, all Cub Scouts and their families gather for a Pack meeting lead by the Cubmaster. At this monthly meeting, Scouts perform skits and demonstrations, receive awards, patches, and recognition for their work towards their respective badges or advancements. A Pack Committee, consisting of parents and leaders, plans the yearly Pack program. The Black Hills Area Council located in Rapid City also has numerous activities and programs designed for the entire Northern Hills area as well. Parents and Leaders work together to provide an enriching program to achieve the purposes of Cub Scouting.
